PIN Access control is a feature that allows you to accept calls from callers only after they have entered a PIN that is valid and verified by your phone system.

There are 2 main uses for PIN access control:

phone-256x256The caller dials your main number, and can either be immediately presented with a PIN request or go through a menu option to guide them to a segment where their PIN is requested. Once a recognised PIN has been keyed in, the system will route the caller to the appropriate call handler based on that specific PIN.
 

 

callfwdBy setting up a series of unique PINs you can then prompt callers to dial the persons extension that they are trying to reach. Once a recognised PIN has been entered the system will route the caller to the appropriate extension based on that specific PIN. By default no PIN Request message is played. You can record your own in the Voice Prompts section of your control panel and then select it from the dropdown box.
